SLB announces AI-driven drilling solution

This technology autonomously interprets real-time subsurface data to guide the drill bit through the most productive reservoir layers, improving well performance while reducing drilling emissions. Unlike conventional geosteering, which relies on geologists to manually analyze data, update well plans and communicate with directional drillers, Neuro handles the entire process independently.
According to SLB, the system is akin to an autonomous vehicle for drilling. It uses advanced cloud and edge AI to select optimal drilling routes based on real-world reservoir conditions, ensuring more efficient and productive wells. This approach helps operators enhance field development plans and reduce emissions over the asset's lifecycle.
Building on SLB’s Neuro autonomous directional drilling technology, the system integrates high-fidelity downhole measurements to ensure precise well placement.
