Artificial intelligence (AI) recruiting platform Betterleap is launching new natural language search (NLS) capabilities for recruiters, enabling users to speak or type their queries into a device using everyday language instead of keywords.

Betterleap NLS will reportedly enable recruiters to describe their hiring goals in their own words — with statements like “I need a software engineer who has at least eight years of experience, knows Python, and works within 40 minutes of the Google HQ campus." This will allow Betterleap to better create a search to eventually fill an open position within the recruiter's company.

This feature, according to Betterleap, will allow recruiters to either expand or narrow search results via filters so that they can identify new candidates that might otherwise be overlooked using traditional searches.

Betterleap explained that recruiters using Betterleap NLS can enter a simple search query to instantly identify candidates who might have otherwise been ignored using traditional filters that prioritized candidates according to queries concerning years of experience, location or keywords, for instance. Instead, Betterleap’s AI relies on assorted signals to reveal relevant candidate profiles.

Further, the search results returned using Betterleap are customized to each business and no two companies will have the same list of candidates, as NLS capabilities automatically expand searches.
