Above-Ground Pump Station Aids Safe MaintenanceEngineering360 News Desk | February 17, 2016
Smith & Loveless (Lenexa, Kan.) has shipped its first Everlast wet well mounted pump station. The above-grade station is mounted outside of and above the wet well, which helps to make operator maintenance safer, simpler and more economical.
Employees at lift stations in Perryville, Mo., (interviewed in this video) say the above-ground wet well mounted pump stations avoid the need to deal with the hazards inherent when working in-ground in the wastewater environment. Also, when working with submersible pumps, maintenance technicians occasionally damage other components in the lift station, leading to additional downtime.
Everlast pump stations include a stainless-steel baseplate, touchscreen station controls, non-clog impeller and check valve that the company says may be cleaned quickly. Stations use 4- to 6-in. pumps and piping and provide power ratings from 1.5 to 50 H, pumping capacity to 1300 gal./min. and total dynamic head (TDH) to 158 ft.
