Igus, a manufacturer of technical products composed of high-performance plastics, has debuted what it claims is the first robot made of high-performance plastic.

According to its developers, the ReBeL robot weighs just 8 kg, reportedly making it the lightest robot in its class.

Igus suggests that the compact, space-saving design of the ReBeL and its integrated control system at the base of the robot will open up new fields of service robotic applications, such as in the event and gastronomy sectors, serving, for instance as a coffee enricher or as a machine loader in production scenarios.
