Researchers from Switzerland’s ETH Zurich have announced the launch of its landmine detection drone.

The drone features ground penetrating synthetic aperture radar for detecting landmines and was developed under Project FindMine wherein unmanned airborne vehicles (UAVs) are employed in the automatic detection and localization of landmines.

According to its developers, the drone identifies suspicious locations via technology such as terrain tracking control and high accuracy sensor localization, and will lower itself to begin a survey of the suspicious location.
