Wired and wireless connectivity products manufacturer L-com has launched a new series of USB 3.0, ECF-style, panel mount couplers for use with test and measurement, data acquisition, video and data transfer, printers and servers, and PC peripheral interconnect applications.

Source: L-comThe new couplers include L-com’s ECF flange design, which allows high-speed, USB 3.0 connections to efficiently pass through panels or enclosures.

According to the company, the chrome-plated models electrically connect the connector shells and ground to the housing's plating making them ideal for applications that require grounding a coupler to a panel or enclosure. Coupler options include A to A, A to B and B to A connector combinations in addition to both chrome-plated, shielded and unshielded ECF housing designs.

The new USB 3.0 ECF couplers offer additional features, including 30 micro-inch gold-plated contacts. The contacts provide reliable connections with repeated mating cycles and are easily mounted using two 4-40 screws (sold separately as L-com part number ECF440).
