Rotork recently revealed its new Intelligent Asset Management system, a cloud-based management system for intelligent actuators and flow control equipment. The new system helps customers to reduce unplanned downtime and improve system performance using data-driven analytics for condition monitoring. The system allows users to detect anomalies immediately — thus enabling early resolution and avoiding costly repairs or failures. This improves the long-term performance and reliability of assets, therefore improving productivity.

Intelligent Asset Management collects and processes the data held within intelligent actuators. It is a robust and secure online platform that comes with an easy-to-use, intuitive user interface that can run on all operating systems. The system provides summary views in color-coded maps and simple visuals that provide users with a clear snapshot of current system performance such as valve and other flow equipment status.

Because the Intelligent Asset Management system is based on real data and advanced analytics, it takes the guesswork out of maintenance plans and schedules. Customers can develop proactive maintenance plans that are not purely periodic/routine but based on real system information. Not only are maintenance schedules more efficient and streamlined, but the cost and time savings associated with logging, gathering, and processing data manually for each piece of equipment is substantial.

The Intelligent Asset Management system logs key areas of information including torque, temperature, vibration, and event log information. It can also log secondary metrics such as partial stroke profile, maximum starts per hour and motor run time. Rotork states that “this wide-ranging view of multiple data sets allows for a holistic understanding of exactly what is occurring on site.”

The Intelligent Asset Management platform gives a clear indication of which assets are not performing optimally and allows customers to access the full suite of information for each individual asset. Customers can print detailed reports that provide a summary of actions required and highlight key system information and crucial performance data. The system can be used on PCs as well as tablets and mobile devices, and being web-based, it can be accessed remotely at any time.
