Beckhoff has added the AL8000 series, a new generation of modular linear motors developed in cooperation with Fertig Motors, a Beckhoff subsidiary.

The new AL8000 product family is based on a modular system design consisting of linear motors and magnetic plates. Users can choose between three widths: 50 mm (AL8x2x), 80 mm (AL8x4x) and 130 mm (AL8x6x). Each width category offers a range of different linear motor types in terms of overall length, type of winding and cooling type.

In the modular coil concept, each primary part consists of identical segments. As a result, the linear motor Source: BeckhoffSource: Beckhoffas a whole is very short and symmetrically designed, which creates a screw-on compatibility of all linear motors of a series. In addition, the design increases flexibility and adaptability to customer requirements. Within the maximum number of inductors of 45, every construction length can be produced in three-step increments without much effort.
The AL8000 offers further advantages in terms of connection technology by only having to direct a cable from the motor to the servo amplifier. This cable includes both the power supply and the thermal protection contact and thus reduces both material costs and cabling costs.

The AL8000 linear motor series is optimally matched to the AX8000 multi-axis servo system and the AX5000 digital compact servo amplifiers. The connection is made directly without any additional accessories, such as the connector box. All engines of the AL8000 series have the same pole spacing of 24 mm. The standard product portfolio contains a total of 28 different linear motor types for implementing highly dynamic and powerful linear axes to suit specific application requirements.
