Efficient building operations depend on available, accurate and usable data. To address this, a new strategic collaboration has formed to provide the buildings industry with connected and sustainable environments. The goal is to help real estate owners, building operators, service providers and other stakeholders meet the growing need for this information.

Two companies — New York-based Facilio, an AI-driven property operations and maintenance (O&M) platform and Belimo, a leader in HVAC field devices headquartered in Switzerland, have teamed up to optimize building performance and comfort by turning IoT data into operational insights and workflows.

The companies offer a single connected operational environment for complete real-time visibility and control of a building’s space and equipment, said Praha Ramachandran, CEO and founder of Facilio.

His company’s platform uses IoT to gather building data that is hard to access and uses it to optimize HVAC systems and building performance in real time. This allows building owners and operators to be proactive regarding sustainability measures and the tenant experience as well as preparing them for meeting new challenges.

Belimo brings a digital ecosystem of sensors, control valves and damper actuators for HVAC to the mix. It provides access to the devices’ data and meets the changing needs of connected buildings.

The combination of Facilio’s cloud-based O&M solutions and Belimo’s IoT ecosystem offers a number of advantages.

- Remote asset performance and optimization allows for remote monitoring and control of multiple building assets through a “single-pane-of-glass” interface. Automated ML-driven fault detection and diagnostics optimize real-time HVAC performance and energy efficiency.

- Sustainability management provides real-time energy consumption analytics, measurement and verification, performance benchmarking, digitized electronic content management and reporting.

- Automated maintenance allows customizable workflows, and maintenance that is preventive, condition-based and predictive.

- Seamless tenant and occupant experiences are achieved through an app. Tenants, owners and facility managers can access data, initiate tenant service requests and handle visitor and vendor management remotely.
