Bucher introduces excavator pipe-rupture valve with flat design
Engineering360 News Desk | September 08, 2020Bucher Hydraulics has designed its excavator pipe-rupture valve CFS-EF, or “CFS-Flat,” which is an extension of the company’s line of CFS pipe-rupture valves. The new flat design of the valve allows for installation on lift cylinders without a sandwich plate.
Bucher’s CFS (compact flow control and safety valve) excavator pipe-rupture valves prevent uncontrolled lowering of an actuator following a pipe or hose rupture. The valves can be used wherever required by standards ISO 8643, EN 474 and DIN 24093 for excavators with a lifting device. The valve is also suitable for machines in which a pipe-rupture on the actuators could create a hazard, such as in materials handling and demolition applications.

Additionally, the CFS valve keeps an actuator in position when the main valve is centered. The valve also includes a secondary pressure-relief function, protecting the actuator against overload.
The CFS-EF is a pilot-operated seat valve in a flat design with a maximum flow rate of 350 l/min (92.5 gpm) and a maximum operating pressure of 420 bar (6,092 psi).
