New pump series launched for the pharmaceutical industry
Engineering360 News Desk | August 19, 2020Fluid power company Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) has launched its new Certa Plus pump series for the pharmaceutical industry.
Using MasoSine’s sinusoidal pumping technology to meet a range of applications, the new sinusoidal Certa Plus technology enables pharmaceutical manufacturers to offer reduced shear and power consumption, and full traceability and cleanability during the transfer of syrups, oils, creams and gels.
Because the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals encounters a range of complex challenges, Certa Plus must offer guaranteed cleanliness and assured quality across a range of pharmaceutical products. The design of the pump reportedly reduces cleaning time, saves electricity, and minimizes cost and carbon footprint.

Certa Plus also offers pulsation free product flow with no need for ancillary dampeners, thereby improving both flow meter accuracy and heat exchanger efficiency. Likewise, the low shear handling minimizes the temperature increase of the pumped liquid and improves batch consistency and, consequently, final product quality.
Certa Plus can also handle and transfer products ranging from syrups and sugar solutions to lozenge products.
