Following the development of a single-sealed valve, a valve manufacturer and a sealing manufacturer worked together to engineer a custom seal to support the valve’s design.

Valve manufacturer Bardiana Valvole — the maker of a high-pressure valve for hygienic applications and certified to global 3-A Sanitary Standards — worked with Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) to devise the custom seal.

The result is a main rod valve seal that is 3-A compliant and can handle pressures as high as 150 bar. Additionally, the 3-A compliant main rod seal includes a sealing lip, manufactured from EPDM 302 or Fluoroprene XP 43, and the design is free of dead space and prevents contamination from process and cleaning media.
