A photovoltaic cable developed by LS Cable & System has received international standard certification from Germany’s TUV Rheinland, a global certification authority. The DC 1,500 V photovoltaic cable meets the functional and safety standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission and EN European Norm.

The newly certified cable is designed for a temperature range of -40° C to 120° C and a 20-year service life. Durability is assured by protection against the deleterious impacts of UV radiation and water exposure. The DC cable also offers a higher transmission efficiency relative to AC equipment and could lead to lower installation costs.

Solar-light ribbon wire has also been engineered for series connection of solar batteries within solar panel modules. The cell binding wire is produced for both busbar and busless design options. Solar-panel communication cable can be supplied in harnesses, which maintain reliability in severe external environments.
