Monitoring device to detect lube oil degradation
Engineering360 News Desk | February 11, 2020MAN Energy Solutions said it has developed an intelligent constant monitoring device designed to detect lube oil degradation and contamination in four stroke engines, turbomachinery and auxiliary equipment.
The company said the fluid monitor has recorded more than 18,000 test hours on pilot industrial sites, and that it complies with CE standards.
The monitor is intended to enable owners to actively track the degradation and contamination of lube oil to better protect their industrial assets.
Used alongside laboratory analyses, the lube oil monitor alerts operators with alarms and stops recommendations as soon as it detects degradation in lube-oil quality. The rapid detection of anomalies, especially important during engine phases such as restarts, allows the operator to anticipate maintenance, protect major components and identify part-wear before breakdown.
