Basic completes miles-long lateral in Permian Basin
David Wagman | July 19, 2019Basic Energy Services said it recently completed a 3.4 mile long lateral in the Permian Basin, one of the longest completions in the area.
The Wolfcamp A well was completed for Surge Energy U.S. Holdings.
Basic said that rig #1826, based in Big Spring, Texas, along with ancillary equipment, drilled out frac plugs over a total horizontal displacement of 17,935 ft.
The rig is a high-spec, 600-horsepower Taylor well servicing unit, coupled with twin 2,250 horsepower pumps and high-performance ancillary equipment. Basic said it completed the drill-out of the Medusa Unit C 28-09 3AH in six days.
