The Schunk Prismo3 eliminates the cost and complications associated with collet chucks by offering a direct, clamping, tool grinding tool holder. The Prismo3 can clamp shank diameters between 3 and 20 mm automatically, without any external components.

The Prismo3 tool holder is ideal for grinding and sharpening applications as well as for measuring and testing.

The tool holder is fully automatable to allow full-time autonomous loading and features set-up costs up to 70% lower than conventional grinding tool holders, according to the manufacturer. Repeat and high run-out accuracies less than 0.01 mm at an unclamped length of 45 mm yield precision results. All the chuck jaws remain in the same axial position, resulting in an accurate, repeatable and reliable clamping position, without an axial stop or reprogramming.

The Prismo3 features a robust design with hard-coated chuck jaws that resist wear. Using a wedge bar and adapter plate, the tool holder can be adapted to all common machine interfaces for all well-known brands of machines.
