Source: Bosch Rexroth CorporationThe CytroBox from Bosch Rexroth is a connected medium-power hydraulic power unit that is compact, quiet and energy efficient.
CytroBox addresses medium-power hydraulic power unit requirements with variable speed operation. Hydraulic power is delivered by a set of synchronous motors and axial piston pumps that are harmonized for needs-based energy consumption. The unit delivers 7.5 kW to 30 kW of hydraulic power while providing an energy savings of up to 80% when compared to constantly driven power units, as stated by Bosch Rexroth. The reduced energy consumption leads to lower operating costs, lower cooling costs and a lower total cost of ownership.
Partial load operation is one feature that sets the CytroBox apart from conventional solutions. The unit is also more compact and quieter than comparable units. Noise emissions at full load are rated to be less than 75 dB (A) and the unit features compact synchronous motors and a reduced oil volume. It is designed for ease of integration addressing minimal space requirements, greater dynamics and increased energy density.
Aside from operating performance, noise reductions and space savings, the unit is also equipped with a sensor package and open interfaces to facilitate condition monitoring. Filter, oil and drive conditions are monitored in real time and the contextual information is processed locally by the drive controller. The data interface feeds maintenance technicians insightful data allowing them to operate under a predictive maintenance schedule. This effectively eliminates downtime associated with normal maintenance activities while more sophisticated analysis is available with Bosch Rexroth’s cloud platform, Online Diagnostic Network (ODiN), which uses machine learning algorithms to create a health index identifying operational anomalies.
