Source: AFPCat owners rejoice: Snapchat has announced that its augmented reality selfie filters will now work on cats, according to the photo-sharing app.

Gone are the days where Snapchat’s facial recognition technology could only apply filters to humans and certain dog breeds.

Cats will now get the Snapchat Lenses filter treatment, with options ranging anywhere from decorating cats with accessories such as hats and glasses, or even posed as if collared by a slice of bread.

This announcement follows news that there has been a reported drop in the number of daily Snapchat users.

Perhaps this new offering will drive former users clawing back to the app for the chance to use the new filters.
