Gemma Power Systems says it signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction services contract with a unit of NTE Energy to construct a 475 megawatt natural gas-fired power plant in Rockingham County, North Carolina.

The NTE Reidsville project includes a Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas M501GAC combustion turbine generator, a Vogt Power International supplementary-fired heat recovery steam generator and a Toshiba America Energy Systems steam turbine generator.

The project is similar to two projects already being built by Gemma for NTE: the Kings Mountain Energy Center, in Kings Mountain, NC, and the Middletown Energy Center in Middletown, OH. Both projects are scheduled to be completed in 2018.

The Reidsville project will employ 25 to 30 people when it enters service.

Gemma Power Systems is a unit of EPC services provider Argan Inc. NTE Energy develops and acquires electric generation and transmission facilities within North America.
