The new DB-L43-4P chip cart makes chip management from swiss machining easy. Swiss machines produce long, stringy chips during turning and become a safety concern and disposal problem. Manually scraping the chips leads to oil and sharp chips on the floor.

“The low chip pan on the swiss and our old way of scraping chips into a plastic tub to carry to the chip spinner created a safety issue for our machinist,” said Brad Price, machine and tooling supervisor at McFarlane Aviation.

CECOR developed the DB-L43-4P chip cart as a solution to these safety concerns. The chip cart has a low profile, with a lip height of only 12 in. and an overall height of 15 in. The machinist can easily wheel the cart away from the machine without getting oil or chips on the floor. In addition to cleanliness and safety improvements, the chip cart also saves time and money.

“CECOR carts are great. They keep our floors clean and oil free — our machinists want more,” added Price.
