Audi to Introduce Electric SUV in 2018

The company launched its first all-electric R8 e-tron car at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Following that, Audi engineering chief Ulrich Hackenberg says the company now plans to introduce a battery-powered “sports activity vehicle." In 2018, Audi will launch the battery-powered sports activity vehicle in the large premium segment with a range of more than 500 kilometers (300 miles), news sources quote Hackenberg as saying.
The vehicle will be built in the second generation of the modular longitude platform (MLB 2), which Hackenberg says is Audi's concept for optimal drivetrain diversity implementation.
