Key Digital has introduced a flexible control gateway with four different modes of use for professional audio/video and control applications.
The first mode for the KD-CX800 control gateway is for Key Digital’s Enterprise over IP system that enables third-party control options, accepts commands from third-party control systems or Compass Control Pro and supports generic RS-232, TCP/IP and matrix switching command strings.
When used as a Compass Control Pro master controller, the device supports communication to and from licensed iOS and Android devices. The gateway has flexible port configurations of IR, RS-232, trigger and sensor that can be set in the Compass Navigator program.
In third-party mode, it is used for advanced third-party control systems to instruct the gateway to execute IR, RS-232 or voltage events. It adds reliable hardware interface to network-based control apps and an API allows for bi-directional communication.
The final mode is as a control extension via IP that can carry any supported combination of IR, RS-232 and voltage triggers over the network, extend control signals up to 400 ft. or even greater distances with adapters and support systems with or without network switches.
