Quaker Expands Auto Presence with Lubricor Purchase
Engineering360 News Desk | December 07, 2016Pennsylvania-based Quaker Chemical Corp. bought Lubricor Inc., a metalworking fluids manufacturer based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
The purchase price was $11.8 million. Lubricor annually sells some $10 million of branded products in North America, and into Southeast Asia through a distributor relationship in Thailand.
Lubricor manufactures and markets value-added metalworking products such as synthetic and semi-synthetic coolants, hydroforming fluids, and stamping products. The company sells directly to Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers.
Quaker says that Lubricor's position in hydroforming and stamping "brings some different technology to us that we are excited to share with our customers."
Quaker Chemical provides process fluids, chemical specialties, and technical expertise to a industries, including steel, aluminum, automotive, mining, aerospace, tube and pipe, cans, and others.
