A new range of thermal imaging cameras from U.K.-based Megger has been unveiled to target electrical testing and diagnostics across industrial, commercial and in-field environments.

According to Megger, the industrial imaging cameras allow users to view faults that may develop or identify overheating issues earlier. Additionally, the imaging cameras could be used for preventive maintenance or improve safety during routine inspections.

The thermal imaging aspect is a new iteration of Megger’s diagnostic industrial imaging portfolio. The company said it designed this version due to the need from users to detect hidden issues before something goes wrong and fails. Megger said unplanned downtime is something industrial sectors are looking to reduce. The tools are designed to make maintenance decisions with greater speed, Megger said.

The range includes:

• TC120 — a straightforward inspection camera at a reduced price point.
• TC256/TC256P — a professional-use camera with improved image quality and analysis features.
• TC640 — an industrial camera for advanced diagnostics with high-resolution imaging, expanded connectivity and deeper analytics.

Megger said it may look to new opportunities to use the thermal range industrial cameras for future connected workflows and software-led diagnostics.
