Dutch drone manufacturer Guard From Above has designed a surveillance drone inspired by nature.

The so-called Evolution Eagle is a covert surveillance platform intended for military needs and designed to look like an actual eagle in shape, size and even color, according to its developers. This design reportedly enables the drone to conduct covert military surveillance.

The Evolution Eagle features two front propellers for propulsion, thereby eliminating wing flapping. Further, the Evolution Eagle can glide on thermal updrafts, similar to real eagles, enabling the drone to conserve battery power and to shut down motors temporarily so that it can conduct silent and stealthy missions undetected.

The developers added that the device is operated via First Person View (FPV), providing a live perspective of the Area of Operations (AOR) and enabling remote pilots to both navigate and to make real-time decisions.

Additionally, the Evolution Eagle drone's design also features a payload bay that can carry hardware such as a thermal camera, a mapping camera or a counter-drone system, thereby making the drone adaptable to assorted missions.

Further, the Evolution Eagle can be assembled within three minutes and launched by hand without a runway.
