iGreen Gadgets, a manufacturer of eco-sustainable products, has introduced an iPhone phone case that is compostable and can transform into a mini garden of daisies, forget-me-nots and basil.

The cover, dubbed the iGreen Cover, is available for the iPhone 13, 14 and 15 Pro and features a water-soluble protective film that dissolves during decomposition to reveal a hidden reservoir of seeds.

According to its developers, the cover, which is composed of cornstarch, can reportedly be instantly absorbed and will decompose in the soil as soon as it is planted in the ground and watered. As the cover melts, the seeds are released from the reservoir into the ground where they will immediately grow herbs or flowers, according to the phone case selected.

The company has color coded the smartphones according to which plants they will grow. The yellow case will grow daisies, the green case will grow basil and the blue case will grow forget-me-nots.
