In modern machine designs, space is usually quite limited. In many places, every millimeter counts and it is important that dimensions are very compact. These are just the right application conditions for the SLG-2 light grid — the powerful solution for classic detection and measuring tasks. The SLG-2 is available in slim and flat variants, which means it can be integrated very well into various tight installation spaces, offering a high level of flexibility for machine integration.

The SLG-2 pairs perfectly with the SLT060 smart light tower to provide signal lamps on individual machines, conveyor belts, workstations and even entire systems. Signal lamps visualize operational statuses or alert employees that their help is needed at a system. They indicate critical temperature conditions and set off alarms in case of faults.

The SLT can be installed in the SLG-2 with minimal space requirements. The SLG-2 also offers two alignment options, allowing it to be integrated into nearly any application. With both vertical and horizontal alignment, the beam can exit either from the short side (in the slim variant) or from the long side (in the flat variant) of the device.

In addition, The SLG-2 performs simple measuring and classification tasks internally and, depending on the application, eliminates the need for additional downstream hardware. A wide range of diagnostic information reduces system downtime and significantly increases cost-effectiveness.

Both sensors use IO-Link technology, allowing them to be easily connected and integrated into customer processes. In addition, the signal lamp can be customized. The parameterization of properties such as continuous light, flashing, different colors, brightness intensity or melodies can be done at any time from a control. Changes can even be made while the machine is in operation. Maximum flexibility is thus ensured without the need for mechanical conversion. The signal lamp is connected to the control level by attachment to an IO-Link master.
