Green light for California binary geothermal plant

Source: Silicon Valley Clean Energywith flash steam geothermal energy production, the facility will deliver 14 MW of power to Central Coast Community Energy and Silicon Valley Clean Energy through a contract signed with Ormat Technologies. In total, the project will provide 30 MW of electricity, enough to power 22,000 homes and offset 160,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually. The remaining 16 MW of power will be allocated to the city of Colton in Southern California.
CD4 is estimated to bring over $13 million in economic benefits to the Mammoth Lakes region and will create more than 180 construction jobs.
