Krohne adds application diagnostics to its flow meters
Engineering360 News Desk | August 19, 2020Krohne, a global manufacturer and provider of process instrumentation, measurement solutions and services, has added application diagnostics to its H250 M40 variable area (VA) flow meter to increase application reliability.
In addition to its electronic device diagnostics, the new application diagnostics are incorporated through intelligent software algorithms for signal analysis of the magnetic field sensors.

The existing NE107 device diagnostics have been enhanced to include VA-specific application diagnostics so that the flow meter now detects blockages or repeated pressure surges, for example.
Additionally, the system can detect pulsations in liquid measurements with positive displacement pumps or compression oscillations in gas measurements.
The functions reportedly improve application reliability, and optimize the measuring accuracy and service life of variable area flow meters.
