Roborace, a U.K. startup developing automated electric vehicles, recently claimed the record for the fastest autonomous car, according to Guinness World Records.

The company’s Robocar reached an average of 175.49 miles per hour during a recent speed test at Elvington Airfield Circuit Race Track in England. The vehicle was tested during a two-way run along a 1.6 mile stretch where it was clocked going east-to-west at 174.21 mph and 176.77 mph going west-to-east.

The self-driving race vehicle does not have a human driver — in fact, there is not even a cockpit for a driver. Instead, it is controlled by artificial intelligence built on Nvidia’s Drive PX2 computer and an array of sensors including radar, lidar, cameras and GPS.
