Source: AMT - The Association for Manufacturing TechnologyWith the stated purpose of accelerating the integration of emerging technologies into manufacturing applications, The Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT) has created the MT360 Conference to be held June 18 to 20 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California.
According to a press release, the conference will feature more than 30 TED-type talks. Presentations will focus on four transformative technologies: additive manufacturing, augmented reality, cognitive automation and the digital thread. A simulated factory will provide demonstrations and a forum to interact with representatives from a variety of companies, including leading legacy organizations and 16 startups.
AMT’s president, Douglas K. Woods, explained that MT360 is designed to “bridge the gap” between Silicon Valley and manufacturing technology communities that do not routinely interact, providing a path for the two groups to leverage one another’s strengths and market potential.
Tim Shinbara, AMT’s vice president for technology, added that “Where other events focus on selling products or learning concepts, MT360 provides practical guidance on integrating technology innovations that manufacturers can immediately use to transform their business.”
Event sponsors include Cisco Systems, Mazak, Autodesk, AM Ventures, Heidenhain, Makino and Athena, along with Additive Manufacturing, Modern Machine Shop, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and SMART Manufacturing magazines. Presenting companies include Oracle Corporation, HP, Ready Robotics, EOS, Humatics, ThyssenKrupp, IBM Watson, GE Global Research and others.
Tech companies looking to apply their innovations, venture capital providers and manufacturing leaders responsible for driving company growth are encouraged to attend. The event is limited to 600 participants; details and registration can be found at MT360Conference.com.
AMT, founded in 1902, represents and promotes U.S.-based manufacturing technology. The organization also owns and manages the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), which was last held in September 2018. The next edition of IMTS will run Sept. 14 to 19, 2020, at McCormick Place in Chicago.
