Solutions center opens for machine tool sector
David Wagman | February 12, 2019Siemens India has launched the Digital Experience and Application Center, a testing, simulation and training center for the machine tool industry.
Located in Bangalore, the 9,000 sq ft facility is intended to allow machine tool manufacturers and users to experience the integration of hardware with software solutions as well as that of the physical with virtual worlds.
The facility is equipped with machine tool products from Siemens and partners, including machine tool builders, probe manufacturers, tooling suppliers, CAD/CAM solution providers and so on. The facility is intended to support machine tool builders, dealers and educational institutes through knowledge sharing programs, application support, training and many such initiatives.

At the facility, machine tool professionals can simulate and create machining strategies, from machine design to engineering and commissioning, and improve productivity using Siemens’ software. End users can have their manufacturing processes optimized from the design stage to execution until services of their final product. The facility also demonstrates the connectivity solution of "shop floor to the top floor" within the premises as well as MindSphere, a cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens.
Siemens said that India is likely to become a key player in the global machine tools industry and is likely to see substantial high-end machine tool manufacturing.
