The incorporation of their ultracapacitor technologies allows for up to 10 years of reliable maintenance-free starting, as there are no electrochemical cells that undergo degradation compared to lead acid batteries that have to be replaced every two years.

The system is designed to reduce generator failure and is NFPA 110 compliant when installed in a hybrid system, meaning that power will be restored within 10 seconds of a power failure.

Maxwell’s solutions can eliminate critical seconds of cranking time during start-up, have a wide operating range from -40 °C to 65 °C, and are RoHS and UL2200 certified.
