Simply put, a customized sensor meets individual user requirements. The example of Endress+Hauser Sensors&Components shows how customer-specific development and production works. They offer differential pressure sensors, absolute and relative pressure sensors as well as radar sensors.

Endress+Hauser Sensors&Components focuses its activities on partnership-based collaboration with customers. An interdisciplinary team handles the users’ requirements in the best possible way. The Sensors&Components business division, which is part of measurement technology manufacturer Endress+Hauser, specializes in customized solutions.

The product portfolio spans three measuring principles:

All sensors provide precise measured values, offer digital interfaces, are easy to integrate into systems and have low energy requirements. The ceramic pressure sensors and silicon differential pressure sensors are characterized by outstanding overload resistance and long-term stability. Among other things, the radar sensors enable continuous, non-contact measurement at distances of up to 35 meters.

High-quality sensors therefore form the basis. The great added value for customers comes from the individual customization options. Endress+Hauser Sensors&Components customizes a wide range of functions and hardware parts. Depending on the sensor type, these include:

  • Housing
  • Process connections (according to European and North American standards)
  • Selection of output signals
  • Sealing materials (O-rings)
  • Electrical integration

The Endress+Hauser Sensors&Components team works closely with the customer during development: “First, the customer gives us their requirements and we create a sample for them,” said product manager Stefanie Renz. “Then tests and optimizations are carried out step by step in an iterative process until the desired result is achieved. Then the serial production starts.”

The sensors are produced under clean room conditions and there is complete traceability for the core components. Thanks to more than 30 years of experience in various industries and comprehensive expertise, all release and approval procedures are supported on request.

“We want to help our customers develop their products and applications according to their own requirements,” said senior expert Max Jochem Kreutzer. He visits various trade shows around the globe where he presents innovations in pressure and radar sensors from Sensors&Components and holds many discussions. “These are our two most important recipes for success,” he explained: “We rely on close cooperation with our customers and on our high-quality sensor solutions.”
