Autodesk demonstrated how software and modern digital workflows can provide “instant on” productivity in manufacturing.
Filmed at its Technology Center in San Francisco, California, Autodesk built a machine network to connect all the machines in the center together. Bundling these machines together allowed for a tighter workflow but also to do predictive maintenance and other industrial monitoring that was unable to be done previously.
A smart shop is powered by software that connects directly to machines on an industrial floor. Built-in drivers recognize each machine and give users the ability to post files to these machines. This is called “instant on” productivity.
