VSO MAX HP from Parker Hannifin, Precision Fluidics DivisionVSO MAX HP from Parker Hannifin, Precision Fluidics DivisionThe Precision Fluidics Division of Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has introduced the VSO MAX HP, the newest model to its line of miniature high pressure high flow proportional valve series. The new valve is designed to improve flow and pressure performance of inert gases in respiratory medical devices. Typical applications include ventilators, insufflators, anesthesia delivery and pressure & flow control.

Although manufactured to the same 2.02" (51.4 mm) tall by .69" (17.4 mm) wide footprint as the VSO MAX HP Model 2, the new model features a larger .125" (3.175 mm) orifice. The Model 4 delivers a flow of 180 slpm at 25 psi and 450 slpm at 101 psi with a low (2.2W) power requirement. The VSO MAX HP also has three standard control voltage ranges (5, 12 and 24 VDC). The valve has a convenient manifold mounting interface and comes cleaned for oxygen service use.

According to Sam Ruback, division marketing development manager, Precision Fluidics Division, "The respiratory industry expressed the need for a high flow proportional valve family that can accommodate systems with or without a regulator, provide flexibility to work around inconsistent hospital supply air pressure and continue to maintain a low power profile. By developing this configuration, we are raising the bar in power efficient high flow proportional valves enabling our partners to develop ventilators in emerging regions and with different fluidic approaches, expanding the breadth of Parker’s offering for the life science market, and are rounding out a valve family specifically designed to work in this critical life-saving application.”
