L3Harris Technologies, an American tech company, has developed new software capable of controlling thousands of drones through a single user interface.

According to its developers, the Autonomous Multi-domain Operations Resiliency Platform for Heterogeneous Unmanned Swarms (AMORPHOUS) platform strives to enhance operational control for the U.S. military, enabling them to coordinate a range of uncrewed vehicles and systems, no matter the manufacturer.

AMORPHOUS reportedly features a user-friendly command-and-control system and provides military operators the ability to carry out complex missions across a range of domains.

“AMORPHOUS is structured to support multiple missions and integrate various uncrewed systems rapidly across a wide area of operations,” the company explained.

One of the most attractive features of AMORPHOUS, according to its developers, is its support for decentralized decision-making, which allows individual uncrewed platforms to autonomously execute tasks and make real-time decisions.

AMORPHOUS has been developed in line with the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) drone swarm warfare to control thousands of payloads simultaneously.
