Samsung debuts first air-to-water heat pump lineup for US homes
GlobalSpec News Desk | January 22, 2025According to the company, these units are connected to Samsung’s EHS Mono R32 HT Quiet outdoor unit, which uses an R32 refrigerant and runs on low noise — as low as 35 decibels.

The indoor units feature a 7-inch screen, which lets users control the temperature and settings. The company added that the screen can also monitor the energy use of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems or control other internet-of-things (IoT) appliances.
The ClimateHub Mono and the Hydro Unit Mono measure 23.6 inches and 11.8 inches deep respectively. Specifically, The ClimateHub Mono is larger at 72.8 inches in height and 23.5 inches in width while the Hydro Unit Mono is 33 inches tall and 13.8 inches wide. Additionally, the Hydro Unit Mono can be connected to a third-party domestic hot water storage tank.
As such, both iterations — which come with magnetic filters, three-way valves and an expansion vessel for space heating — would easily fit into most homes.
Further, the indoor units feature large heat transfer surfaces and are well-insulated to reduce heat loss while the outdoor unit features new ‘scroll compressor’ and ‘flash injection technology’ for efficient heating performance — even in temperatures as low as -30° C.
Samsung explained that its indoor and outdoor units are designed to achieve optimal performance and in doing so, it has reduced tank heat loss by designing ClimateHub’s tank coil with a large heat transfer area and three insulation layers. Likewise, both indoor units also support Samsung’s AI Energy Mode, which can reduce energy use by up to roughly 17%.
