Machining manufacturer Takumi USA plans to introduce its UA400 5-axis machining center at the 2024 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), a trade show held in Chicago, Illinois, that features industrial machinery and technology.

Described by the company as a new addition to the Takumi USA lineup, the UA400 features XYZ travels of 24.8 inches x 24.8 inches x 20.1 inches, a +30/-110° A-axis trunnion, 360° C-axis, 400-mm table, high-speed, inline spindle, and 40-tool ATC. The Takumi UA400 5-axis machining center also includes improved thermal compensation and surface finish.

Additionally, Takumi USA is also presenting its H10 3-axis machining center equipped with the new PCCNC control at IMTS.

According to the company, the Takumi H Series machining centers are designed to deliver high surface finish quality and consistent precision as well as provide high speed and accuracy thanks to their solid one-piece bed, column and cross-rail design, high-response axial transmission system, low vibration and thermal controlled spindle. The H10 features XYZ travels of 40.16 inches x 27.56 inches x 19.69 inches, a 15,000 rpm, direct drive, Big Plus, CAT 40 spindle and 30 tool automation tool changer (ATC).

Further, the H10 will be equipped with Takumi’s PCCNC control, using the Fanuc 0i-F Plus as the back-end controller, and running a Windows 10 PC i7 CPU front-end and interface. Other features include:

  • 19 inch touch screen
  • Standard QWERTY keyboard and touchpad
  • LCD MPG/handwheel
  • Intelligent advanced path planning and spindle monitor
  • Digital twin solid-rendering part and machine graphical simulation
  • User prompt setup assist and part/tool probing
  • AI path smoothing and machine condition setting
  • Active data collection for remote machine monitoring

Takumi’s products will be on display at IMTS booth #338319, September 9 - 14, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois.
