Celanese Corporation will participate in the 36th Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS36) taking place June 11 to June 14 in Sacramento, California.

The company will showcase an expanded portfolio of materials and systems developments that accelerate innovation for advanced mobility applications. These include:

  • All-in-1 battery module (prototype): based on tab cooling, structural thermoplastic cooling channels and an electrical connection plate, this concept can extend range, improve part integration and boost thermal management.

  • Busbars: a Celanese material-process-service solution for overmolding busbars with Zytel HTN material reduces manufacturing time and cost yet maintains performance and safety standards. In addition, Celanese offers Fortron PPS, Frianyl PA, Vectra LCP and Crastin PBT for busbar applications.

  • Hybrid thermoplastic/aluminum cooling plate: created with global automotive tier 1 Novares, this plate can extend both range and battery life and is based on a Celanese technology called ZytelBond resin that quickly bonds aluminum to injection-molded parts made of Zytel resin, Zytel HTN or Celanyl PA.

  • EV charging plug: Zytel HTN handles and plugs connect electric charging station cables to the car's charging socket, providing structural strength and electrical compatibility.

In addition to its booth presence, Celanese employee Fabrice Giaume, global leader in the company's Automotive Centers of Excellence, will explain the “All-in-1 Battery Module” concept during the Battery and Drivetrain Technology session on June 14. This new, multi-functional battery design can deliver higher battery pack energy density, a differentiated cooling system and a reduced number of components and manufacturing complexity. This concept also enables the repair and replacement of battery cells for increased sustainability.

Show attendees are invited to stop by the Celanese booth #643 to learn more about these exciting developments.

According to Washington, D.C.-based show organizer Electric Drive Transportation Association, EVS36 is the most recent edition of the longest-running international conference devoted to electric transportation and technologies. This conference and expo attract visitors and exhibitors from around the globe.
