Inspired by a 2021 shooting in Colorado that left 10 people dead at a King Soopers supermarket, a Colorado teen has invented a reusable shopping bag that can be transformed into a bulletproof vest.

Trent Bush developed the LifeTote, which is a backpack featuring Kevlar inserts and breakaway zippers that easily dismantle the structure of the bag, enabling the user to turn it into a bulletproof vest that can be worn by users of all shapes and sizes.

Composed of military grade nylon and webbing, the bag weighs roughly 3 lbs and will be manufactured in summer 2022.
