Qosina introduces new line of luer lock connectors to address nylon shortageEngineering360 News Desk | April 11, 2022
Qosina, a supplier of original equipment manufacturer single-use components to the medical and pharmaceutical industries, addresses the global Zytel nylon shortage with new additions to its luer lock connector product line.
Qosina is pleased to offer a selection of luer lock connectors made of high-performance Vydyne that are in stock and ready for immediate shipment. These connectors are REACH and RoHS compliant, include regulatory documentation, CAD drawings and validation test data.
“We proactively assess the supply chain for our products for any potential issues and take steps to mitigate the risks of interruption,” explained Scott Herskovitz, Qosina president and CEO. “In the case of a resin supply issue, Qosina evaluates and sources compatible alternatives, ensuring our ongoing commitment to business continuity.”
Vydyne 21SPF is a general-purpose, lubricated PA66 resin with an enhanced crystallization temperature. The product has been designed primarily for fast cycle time for injection-molding fabrication and offers a combination of engineering properties characterized by high-strength rigidity, good toughness, high melt point, good surface lubricity, abrasion resistance and resistance to many chemicals.
Qosina is a one-stop source for single-use medical device and bioprocess components, with low minimum order quantities, a liberal sampling policy and bill of material kitting, all supported by regulatory documentation and backed by Qosina’s assurance of supply.
