Orbinox recently launched its new high-pressure model bi-directional knife gate valve for industrial and water treatment applications. The HB knife valve has been specially designed to deliver a complete solution for water treatment applications, and general industrial processes that demand high-pressure performance and reliability.

The new HB series knife gate valve comprises precisely machined, two-piece ductile iron half bodies, and a wafer style bi-directional knife gate valve. The body and seal design allow a perfect adjustment of the body, gate and seal for enhanced tightness and avoid any build-up of solids that may prevent valve closure.

The standard stainless-steel gate is polished on both sides for a superior seal and is fully guided in the body along the whole valve stroke. This helps to minimize gate fluttering and ensure maximum tightness.

Valve longevity is maximized thanks to the long-life packing with several layers of braided fiber plus an O-ring, with an easy access packing gland ensuring a tight seal. Long-life braided packing is available in a wide range of materials. The standard stainless steel stem offers excellent corrosion resistance while the compact epoxy coated steel yoke (or stainless steel upon request) makes for an extremely robust arrangement even under challenging operating conditions.

The HB is available in sizes ranging from DN80 to DN 600 (3 inches to 24 inches). All sizes are full port design and suitable for working pressures up to 300 psi (20 bar). The valves are also available with a handwheel, gearbox, pneumatic cylinder, electric or hydraulic actuators. Orbinox also offers the HB knife gate valve in a fabricated design with different materials of constructions to meet specific application requirements.
