Leading Austrian valve solutions company Hawle has released its latest gate valve, the E3. Coming off the success of its predecessor, the E2, Hawle has exploited the performance and reliability of the earlier model and incorporated superior corrosion protection and additional enhancements.

A key design feature of the new E3 gate valve is the O-ring carrier which is connected to the allover epoxy powder-coated bonnet by a double bayonet. The load optimized polyoxymethylene wedge guides ensure low torque actuation and less wear, thus extending valve service life. The wedge and wedge nut are interlocked but fully vulcanized with an elastomer embedding to maintain flexibility while minimizing vibration and backlash.

Hawle uses Duplex stainless steel spindles as standard, and the valve body comes with a special epoxy-powder coating. This results in maximum corrosion protection without compromising the low torque actuation typical in Hawle gate valves. Spindle O-rings are replaceable under operating pressure, improving ease of maintenance. The valve also comes with increased edge protection which provides additional protection during transport, storage and installation.

Hawle also ensures that E3 bonnets are compatible with E2 housing. This means any existing E2 housing can be kept in the pipe during an upgrade and retrofitted with a new E3 bonnet. This provides the added advantage of maintaining the long-term availability of replacement parts for E2 valves.

The E3 gate valve is available in a wide range of models to suit many applications and specific system requirements. Some variations include flanged ends, reduction valve, spigot ends, PE welding ends and a suite of combinations. Sizes range from DN50 to DN600 (2 inches to 24 inches) depending on the valve model. The E3 also comes with various accessories including extension spindles, handwheel, actuator, position indicator, limit switch, surface boxes and more.
