SpaceX and the Pentagon are planning to jointly develop high-speed delivery rockets for the United States Army that will transport weapons anywhere in the world in just one hour.

The plan, according to reports, will include the development of rockets that can carry 80 tons of cargo and weaponry that travel at roughly 7,500 miles per hour.

Expected to be 15 times faster than standard cargo aircraft like the US C-17 Globemaster, the new high-speed rocket is expected to be ready for testing as early as next year.
